We humans need the forest. We need to wander slowly amidst the white boles, allow our pulse to lower, and our hearts to find their own rhythm. In Japan, it is called shirin-yoku – forest bathing.

In our collection BJÖRK (Birch) and STAM (Bole) we want to highlight the beauty of the forest through all four seasons. The winter rest. The tender greenery of spring. The opulence of summer and the golden leaves of fall. 

In 1988, the silver birch was chosen as Finland's national tree. The spring birch can be recognized by its long, hanging twigs and is often called the Hanging Birch.

The birch has always been an important useful plant in the Nordic countries. Sawdust, nettle, birch tar and potash. Brooms of tender early summer birch in the sauna and leafy stems for midsummer. The birch is part of our history and thrives throughout our nature - from the glass birch in the archipelago's coastal groves to the small, creeping dwarf birches in the bare mountains.
