Eva Ekeblad and the new beginning
Eva Ekeblad was the woman who discovered how to make schnapps from potatoes — and in doing so saved countless farmers from hunger and hardship. Potatoes were so efficient for distilling that the farmer could use less of his land for grain, and instead put significantly more food on his family’s table.
It was a new beginning for the country’s farmers, a discovery that changed how an entire nation was fed — and which in 1748 made Eva the first woman elected to the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. Our ring is a tribute to Eva Ekeblad and her discovery: a romantic classic shaped from potatoes and potato foliage in 18K white gold, crowned with a diamond. Simply called Eva.
