MAKE A SUSTAINABLE CHOICE

Sell your precious metals to Guldviva

As a private individual you can sell your gold or silver “scrap” to us, that is broken jewellery and other items, or things you simply no longer want. We will appraise your items free of charge and you can buy new jewellery from us for that value, or receive money into your account.

  • Payment to your bank account within seven days
  • No fee for analysis and valuation in the event of a sale
  • Analysis and valuation at cost price if no sale is made
  • Always up-to-date daily prices
  • Scales approved by Inspecta Oy

Everyone benefits from recycling

Silver and gold are living materials that last forever. Recycling old jewellery requires less energy and resources and significantly reduces emissions into the air, soil and water compared with when new precious metals are mined.

In addition, you make it possible for us to create our jewellery from 100% recycled material. Every Guldviva piece of jewellery is handmade in our workshop in 925 Sterling Silver or 18K gold.

You are in safe hands when you sell to us

If you have any questions, you can always visit us in our shop in Sjökvarteret or reach us by phone or email. Our experienced goldsmiths will first appraise your items and then offer you a price that you are completely free to accept or decline. The scale we use to weigh your items is approved by Inspecta Oy and is checked regularly to ensure accurate calculation of the weight.

Terms and conditions for the purchase of precious metals from the public

Guldviva offers to buy precious metals such as gold, silver, platinum and palladium from the public.

PRICE AND PROCEDURE

The price offered by Guldviva is based on the world market price of 24 carat gold, or the respective world market price of other metals. The current day’s world market price is used for the calculation at the time of purchase. Please note that we pay what is known as the “scrap price”; the items have no other value, such as antique or sentimental. The costs of melting and refining the items are taken into account when Guldviva calculates its price.

For the current daily rate, please contact us by phone on +358 18 22130.

Items are primarily submitted for appraisal. Guldviva performs the various tests needed to determine the authenticity of the items and, for example, what gold content they contain.

Guldviva then offers a price per gram for each precious metal, excluding stones and other parts made of materials that Guldviva cannot recycle. The price is calculated based on the weight and purity of the fine precious metal.

Removed items that have no monetary value (e.g. imitation stones) will not be returned to the customer. Imitation jewellery and genuine diamonds or other valuable removed items are returned to the customer only if this is requested at the same time as the sale is approved.

You can either use the amount to shop in our store, or choose to have the money paid into your account. We always give you 20% more if you choose to use the value as store credit with us.

If you would rather have money paid into your account and accept the price offered by Guldviva, it will be paid to the specified bank account within 7 working days from when the customer has approved the sale and provided the account details. Payment is not made in cash.

RETURN OF ITEMS

If the Customer does not accept the price offered by Guldviva and declines to sell, they should collect their items as soon as possible and no later than within 3 months. If the Customer does not collect the items within this period, uncollected items will be discarded.

THE CUSTOMER

The customer must be at least 18 years old and the legal owner of the items to be sold. The customer must have a bank account and the account must be in the customer’s name. The customer must show identification such as a driving licence or passport when submitting items for valuation.

PROTECTION OF CULTURALLY AND HISTORICALLY VALUABLE OBJECTS

In Åland there is a Provincial Act (1986:58) on the protection of objects of cultural and historical value. This act states that jewellery can be considered objects of cultural and historical value if they are of particular artistic or historical interest and are more than 50 years old. Such jewellery may only be taken out of Åland without a permit from the Government of Åland under certain conditions. Export is restricted to ensure that cultural objects important to Åland’s cultural heritage are preserved within the region. If you sell your items to us, you can rest assured that you are not breaking this law. We also buy these items, but keep them in Åland in our own collections. We currently have over 200 such pieces of jewellery catalogued.

CRIME PREVENTION

Guldviva reserves the right to document, by means of photography, the items submitted for appraisal. In the event of suspected crime (e.g. stolen goods) or fraud, a report will be filed with the police. At the request of the police, documented information will be forwarded to the local police authority.
