Care advice

To take care of your jewelry yourself, make sure you store it properly and polish it regularly.

Silver oxidizes, i.e. discolors, when it comes into contact with sulphur. Sulphur is present in the air, on the skin, in cigarette smoke, perfumes, etc. In other words, it cannot be avoided. The more humid the air, the faster silver oxidizes.

Tips for prolonging shine

  1. Store your silver jewelry in an airtight plastic bag (for example, a minigrip bag).

  2. Avoid storing them in the bathroom, where it is often damp.

  3. Always remove jewelry before showering, bathing or exercising.

  4. Use a suitable polishing cloth or a gentle silver and gold polish for home use.

  5. Avoid chemical cleaners on pearls - strong silver polish can damage the surface. (If you need to dip the whole piece, just leave it for a few seconds).

  6. Chemical cleaning also removes the oxidation that can be part of the design - so take special care when cleaning antique-treated jewelry.
