Guldviva was born in 1989 as a classic jewelry store. It soon became clear that Guldviva had the knowledge, the will and the ambition to do so much more than repair and sell other people's products. Guldviva's head goldsmith, Maria Karlström, saw jewelry where no one else did. In the roadside, flying between the blades of grass, on the edge of the bridge, crawling over the rocks, swimming in the sea. That's where Guldviva found her form - with one foot in the sea and the other in the mud. We are who we are because of everything we have experienced. Guldviva's root system winds its way back to a calmer time. The design is inspired by childhood summers, by security, lapping water, feet on a warm rock, hand in grandfather's hand. When we do not analyze but just feel. Every piece of jewelry from Guldviva carries that mood, that calm.

For more than a decade GULDVIVA’s home has been in Sjökvarteret (the Maritime Quarter) in Mariehamn. The old fish smoker’s cabin amongst the boatsheds stood empty for a long time, maybe it was difficult to see its potential. But we saw something there – a cosy home offering space to prosper and grow – and the small, sooty cabin was turned into a combined workshop and shop. In 2018 a larger cabin was joined to the original, smaller one, and both workshop and shop now delight in much needed extra space.

Today, Guldviva has Guldviva in its own store, but also boundless space online. Ideas flow freely in our workshop – we have over 400 models in our range, which is constantly growing. People all over the world wear and order Guldviva day. Quality, precision, and good design are our passion. We grow a little bit every time we see someone wearing one of our pieces of jewelry.

Now we are many who work with Guldviva. We are proud of our roots, our history gives strength to look forward. Guldviva is design craftsmanship and our jewelry is unique, just like all of you who wear them.
