A netting needle is used to gather up the fishing net when you haul it out of the water. Another word for netting needle is “nacksticka”.

On Åland, people have fished since time immemorial and the netting needle is a familiar object to most who live here. Fresh perch fried in a generous piece of real butter is one of the tastiest things there is!

NÄTSTICKA XL necklace is a larger version of the original, which we have antiqued for a tougher look.

All our jewellery is handmade by trained goldsmiths in our own workshop in Åland, Finland. Every piece is created from 100% recycled metal.

Where does my jewellery come from?

Åland – a tranquil island in the Baltic Sea, between Finland and Sweden. Here, in the beautiful Maritime Quarter in the heart of Mariehamn, you’ll find both our store and our workshop.

Guldviva was born in Åland in 1989 and has always kept its production here. For us, it has been important to have full control over the entire process, where jewellery making and sales go hand in hand. This way, we can ensure the highest quality and offer personal service. With us, you always know where your jewellery comes from – right here in Åland.
