Our philosophy around gold

At Guldviva, gold symbolizes permanence and value. All gold that is to be shaped into jewelry must be alloyed with other metals to gain sufficient strength. In our workshop we always work with 18 karat, which contains 75 percent gold, instead of 14 karat where the gold content is 58.5 percent. Both are considered real gold, but you’d rather be more genuine than less, wouldn’t you?

Recycling old jewellery requires less energy and resources and significantly reduces emissions into the air, soil and water compared to mining new precious metals. We strive for fully sustainable production and today use 100 percent recycled gold, which we ourselves buy from our customers. All gold submitted to us is purified of impurities and then alloyed with 25 percent copper and silver.

18K gold normally does not tarnish, but jewelry you wear often will still show signs of frequent use. That’s why we offer free professional polishing of all Guldviva jewelry. For example, we can tumble the jewelry with polishing beads or redo the surface finish by hand. Your piece will look like new again.
