The earthworm is a fantastic animal. Even Darwin was fond of earthworms and realised their value for agriculture, and he did quite a lot of research on them. Using his figures, one can calculate that in about 25 years our entire topsoil layer of about 20–30 cm has passed through the gut of some earthworm. Perhaps it is time the worms received the respect they deserve for their tireless work? Our LUMBRICUS Necklace we think is very beautiful, in any case.

Where does my jewellery come from?

Åland – a tranquil island in the Baltic Sea, between Finland and Sweden. Here, in the beautiful Maritime Quarter in the heart of Mariehamn, you’ll find both our store and our workshop.

Guldviva was born in Åland in 1989 and has always kept its production here. For us, it has been important to have full control over the entire process, where jewellery making and sales go hand in hand. This way, we can ensure the highest quality and offer personal service.
