“The City of a Thousand Lindens” – Mariehamn's other name – is the seed of an idea that grew into TILIA.

Here is what Maria Karlström, head goldsmith at GULDVIVA, says about Tilia: “I had long wanted to design a piece with a strong connection to Åland. The seeds the linden sheds in autumn look like a little sail on a stalk of seeds. To me they're a bit like the Ålanders, who often dare to set sail and throw themselves into the wind – frequently with fine results.”

Tilia is the Latin name for the linden tree.

TILIA has a beautiful, patinated surface achieved by antiquing the silver.

Where does my jewellery come from?

Åland – a tranquil island in the Baltic Sea, between Finland and Sweden. Here, in the beautiful Maritime Quarter in the heart of Mariehamn, you’ll find both our store and our workshop.

Guldviva was born in Åland in 1989 and has always kept its production here. For us, it has been important to have full control over the entire process, where jewellery making and sales go hand in hand. This way, we can ensure the highest quality and offer personal service.
