With pockets full of stones
The summers of my childhood I spent at my grandfather’s cottage, which is still in the family today. There I wandered along the STRAND (Beach) line and let the stones catch my eye. I collected and collected. The stones never really had any particular function; perhaps they lay on a windowsill until someone tidied them away. And then I collected new ones.
My grandfather’s STRAND (Beach) is by Lumparn, where a meteorite impact a billion years ago created a crater that today is a bay in the very heart of Åland. This is also one of the few places on Åland where you can find fossils.
