ÖKA (in some places the name EKA is used) is the name of a traditional vernacular boat. Travelling on the water is a natural part of life in the Åland archipelago.

A rowing boat can be used for fishing as well as for transport. To transport people on trips into town, to church and when visiting neighbours. Animals also travel comfortably to grazing islets in spring and are then brought back home for the winter.

All our jewellery is handmade by trained goldsmiths in our own workshop in Åland, Finland. Every piece is created from 100% recycled metal.

Where does my jewellery come from?

Åland – a tranquil island in the Baltic Sea, between Finland and Sweden. Here, in the beautiful Maritime Quarter in the heart of Mariehamn, you’ll find both our store and our workshop.

Guldviva was born in Åland in 1989 and has always kept its production here. For us, it has been important to have full control over the entire process, where jewellery making and sales go hand in hand. This way, we can ensure the highest quality and offer personal service. With us, you always know where your jewellery comes from – right here in Åland.
