A feeling for the sea in silver...

On Åland there is a strong maritime tradition. Gustaf Erikson from Åland was the world’s last great sailing ship shipowner. In 1935, Gustaf Erikson’s fleet consisted of 15 square-rigged steel sailing ships, 8 North Sea traders and 6 motor-sailing vessels.

A RÅBANDSKNOP (Reef Knot) tied in silver is a natural motif that connects to our tradition and love of the sea.

RÅBANDSKNOP (Reef Knot) earrings are antiqued for a darker, more patinated surface.

They are also available in "shiny" silver (not antiqued). If you would like them like that, please make a note in the comments box when placing your order.

All our jewellery is handmade by trained goldsmiths in our own workshop in Åland, Finland. Every piece is created from 100% recycled metal.

Where does my jewellery come from?

Åland – a tranquil island in the Baltic Sea, between Finland and Sweden. Here, in the beautiful Maritime Quarter in the heart of Mariehamn, you’ll find both our store and our workshop.

Guldviva was born in Åland in 1989 and has always kept its production here. For us, it has been important to have full control over the entire process, where jewellery making and sales go hand in hand. This way, we can ensure the highest quality and offer personal service. With us, you always know where your jewellery comes from – right here in Åland.
