In Åland, there is a strong maritime tradition. Gustaf Erikson from Åland was the last great sailing ship owner in the world. In 1935, Gustaf Erikson's fleet consisted of 15 steel square-riggers, 8 North Sea sailors, and 6 motor sailers.

A reef knot tied in silver is a natural motif that connects to our tradition and love for the sea.

RÅBANDSKNOP (Reef Knot) ROBUST is formed from a thicker silver wire and the surface has been antiqued for a darker, patinated finish. Suitable for both women and men.

Crafted by goldsmiths in Finland

All our jewellery is handmade by trained goldsmiths in our own workshop in Åland, Finland. Every piece is created from 100% recycled metal.

Where does my jewellery come from?

Åland – a tranquil island in the Baltic Sea, between Finland and Sweden. Here, in the beautiful Maritime Quarter in the heart of Mariehamn, you’ll find both our store and our workshop.

Guldviva was born in Åland in 1989 and has always kept its production here. For us, it has been important to have full control over the entire process, where jewellery making and sales go hand in hand. This way, we can ensure the highest quality and offer personal service.
