There are not enough words to describe how much we love our little island.
Åland is our safe home. A place where everyone knows everyone. The stormy sea, the blooming apple trees and the red granite. The people, the food and the boating life. All the old houses, the sense of community and security. Everything is somehow so simple and genuine here. You are who you are, just getting on with life. Close to everything, yet somehow so far away.
At Guldviva we live, love and breathe Åland. This little island is our greatest source of inspiration when it comes to creating our jewellery. The BLÅSIPPA (Hepatica) flowers that peek up from the cold earth in early spring. The birch leaves that gently rustle when a gust of wind whistles by. The sailing boats and life at sea that sweep us away every summer, when our island fills with people, life and joy like never before. This is our Åland.
We want to evoke a feeling through our jewellery. A symbolism where you will hopefully find something that means something special just for you. A piece of jewellery that you can carry with you throughout your life and always think back to that feeling you had when you put it on for the first time. Perhaps it means something important to you, reminds you of someone. Or maybe you simply think it is beautiful. Either way, our jewellery is made to be worn and worn out. Used!
